Hello Friends,
Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly newsletter. Please pass along to your friends and family and ask them to become involved! Our goal is to keep all our members up-to-date on the recent developments related to Dix Park. #1 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT #2 DIX IN THE PRESS #3 STILL TIME TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUNDRAISER ================================== #1 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT While we have not seen the bill the General Assembly is drafting, we know it is coming. We hope the bill will give us our 306 acre world-class destination park. Will our Wake Delegation stand up for us, their constituents? Will the GA yet respond to Mayor Meeker's request to negotiate for OUR PARK? Will the GA support condos and a shopping mall or green grass and trees? We will know soon. We hold hope that our North Carolina General Assembly has heard our voices asking them to do the right thing for our quality of life, our economic vitality and the future of our children here in North Carolina's capital city. It will cost them nothing to give us OUR PARK! Please contact everyone you know and ask them to help us contact our state elected officials to ask for OUR 306 acre DIX PARK. Please visit dixpark.org and dix306.org for other ideas. Congratulations to the Mayor of Raleigh for another 2 years, Charles Meeker who is running unopposed in the upcoming election. Please thank Mayor Meeker for his support for OUR 306 acre DIX PARK and displaying the DIX306 sign at Raleigh Wide Open this weekend and in front of his home. And thanks to all of you for your continued financial and volunteer support in advocating a destination park on the Dix Campus. We have heard your voices and we will have OUR DIX PARK!
