Event Details

This dynamic workshop introduces participants to Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that weaves together dance, acrobatics, music, and cultural storytelling. In Capoeira basic movement sequences function as both a game and a cultural dialogue. Participants will explore foundational Capoeira movements, rhythmic patterns using traditional instruments, and songs in Portuguese that reflect the art’s origins in resistance and resilience. The workshop concludes with community roda (circle), where participants put their learning into practice through movement, rhythm, and shared energy. All levels are welcome!

Instructor: Sina de Capoeira
